Les techno warriors qui fréquentent ce blog seront déçus puisque c’est encore un autre registre que nous allons aborder pour ce nouveau podcast. Celui-ci est signé Mr Raoul K, pseudonyme mystérieux derrière lequel se cache Raoul Konan, un personnage atypique d’origine ivoirienne exilé en Allemagne depuis un petit moment. En 2007 il fonde le label Baobab Music sur lequel il ne sort que ses propres productions: son dernier EP Mystic Things est d’ailleurs disponible en vinyle depuis lundi, chef d’oeuvre de deep techno dont seul Raoul a le secret. Mr Raoul K est un adepte des longues montées planantes, celles qui durent dix minutes et qui plongent l’auditeur dans un état de transe, de profond bien être. Cela est rendu possible grâce à une délicate combinaison de synthés et de percussions tribales chères à l’artiste, créant ainsi une house profonde et mystique, mais jamais ennuyeuse. Raoul nous fait l’honneur d’un mix non seulement techniquement irréprochable mais aussi doté d’une playlist pointue aux influences jazz, soul et musique ethnique, le tout dans une approche purement house. Un sans faute donc, pour un artiste plus que prometteur.

The techno warriors who frequent this blog will be disappointed because it’s yet another genre that we’ll be approaching in this new podcast. This one’s made by Mr Raoul K, a mysterious nickname behind which lurks Raoul Konan, an atypical Ivorian man exiled in Germany for a long time. In 2007 he founded the Baobab Music label where he releases his own productions: his latest EP Mystic Things is also available on vinyl since Monday, a masterpiece of deep techno for which he alone knows the secret. Mr Raoul K is a fan of long aerial tracks, those that last ten minutes and bring the listener into a state of trance and deep well-being. This is made possible thanks to a delicate combination of synths and tribal drums dear to the artist, creating a house deep and mystical, but never boring. Raoul honours us with a mix not only technically perfect but also very eclectical: the playlist is filled with jazz, soul and ethnic music influences, all in a 100% house approach. A faultless performance for a more-than-promising artist.
